Traditional and Emerging Technologies in the Classroom

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rib iur children of tomorrow" - John Dewey

Techonology as advance in so many ways. As far as, education goes, we have went from chalk board, to white board and now to smartboard. From pressing chalk againist boards to now, it taking just a touch if a screen to write a sentence. From classroom projectors to now using Powerpoint to do a presentation. I believe it is very imporatant to be sure you are introducing your students to all the new advances whe it comes to technology.

The "Know"- Ms. Palmer and Class

My name is Ms. Palmer. I have been teaching for two years and I love my job! My educational philosophy is simple. "If you succeed, that means I succeed". By saying that, I mean my accomplishment is when my students not only understands, but passes my class and also take life lessons along with them. My teaching style is to address the school board requirements for education but also to provided a comfortable setting for my students. I maintain a "open door" policy. Anything my students will like to talk about I am here. I encourage students communication. I love group projects, however I am sure to incorporate individual assignments as well. As a reading class, I require the student to keep a vocabulary log and add a seven words daily. I place my students in groups, they come up with the word on Microsoft Word and email them to each student in class (a email group I create for the class).
